Scar massage / Post operative recovery
Scar Massage at Nelsons Clinic
£50 for 30 minutes
Adrianna introduced this treatment to help patients recover
from surgery at London Bridge Hospital Oncology department.
She has been working with scars for over eight years and sees this
as a specialist treatment.
Scar massage is especially helpful when there is pain, restriction or
lymphodoema after mastectomy surgery or other intensive surgery.
Scars as a result of accident can be helped, as can C-section scars and
restrictions as a result of other surgery. The older the scar the more work
may need to be done, especially if the underlying muscles are affected.
Scar massage helps improve blood and lymph flow, drains tissue waste, can help
improve nerve sensitivity, mobility of the area and suppleness of the scar itself.
Any adhesions in the area will be released through various techniques and the
patient is given further stretches to do at home and help free the area.
Homeopathic remedies are suggested to help progression and healing.
For best results a series of treatments is recommended.
Please note if there is a large amount of inflammation
in the area it is best to wait to start massage.
If you are having difficulty healing please consult Adrianna for assistance in this area.
