-- The Five Tibetans
-- world from a different view
-- Remedy spotlight

Hello again and a warm welcome to the new subscribers.

This month I am going slightly off topic. Homeopathy is one branch of a larger tree. It happens to be the one I swing on most the time, but I like to climb around and check out the view from different places sometimes.

The Five Tibetans

Have you ever come across a book that is so easy yet incredibly effective, and you want to tell EVERYBODY? This is one of those treasures. According to Tibetan lamas, these five yoga exercises will strengthen the body, improve energy, regenerate mind and body and hold off the advances of aging.
The exercises are simple and provide a rush of energy that rivals a freshly pressed espresso. Better still, you gain strength quickly as you build up to the recommended optimal twenty one times. When I first started I felt tuckered out after five of each. Now I am up to thirteen, so only eight more to go!

This book is very highly recommended for all ages and states of physical health. It is a good starting point if you have been out of regular exercise for a while. I think it would also be of great benefit to anyone under emotional strain. It will help you reconnect with your body and replenish your energy.

Start slowly and work up to a number that suits you. The lamas suggest that more than twenty one is unnecessary. I do mine in about seven minutes and then I am fully alert and buzzing with natural energy. Kazoom!

There are times when we all get caught up in our own worlds and our own problems. I do it too. Fear is such a powerful emotion and when it takes control, it suffocates everything else. I would suggest, ever so humbly, that when your world looks bleak, do something kind for someone else. It doesn't have to be big. Sometimes a smile, a hug, giving a hand means so much to someone, and it costs you nothing but love and kindness.
The link below is a short clip of world statistics, if the population of the planet were reduced to 100. It will make your jaw drop. Share it with your friends. Keep it tucked away in the back of your mind for those days when you feel like throwing in the towel because you feel a mess. Then, brush your hair back, stick your chin in the air, and do something good out there in the world. You will feel ten times better than if you stayed at home full of worry.

Summer time means outdoor cooking and barbeque fun. My first degree had a focus on food and beverage management and I would like to give you some tips on keeping your summer festivites safe. Firstly, keep raw foods on a separate plate from the cooked ones. Sounds simple but after a couple of beers you can get blase (or blasted) and forget. Secondly, make sure your food, particularly meat, is cooked all the way through. That can be tough sometimes when the outside is charred black because the flames are leaping out of the bbq. Finally, do not keep foods with mayonnaise out in the warmth for too long. You have about a four hour window before food can spoil so keep salads in a cold ice chest until just ready to serve and then return it as soon as you can. If something has been sitting out for a long time, don't be tempted to pop it back in the fridge. Throw it away.
If you are unfortunate enough to get food poisoning, usually showing up a few hours after the offending food has been eaten, use the remedy Arsenicum album. Arsenicum is good for vomiting and diarrhoea with a feeling of anxiety and restlessness. Be sure to drink lots of fluids and add some vitamin C powder. If the symptoms carry on, seek medical help.

Arsenicum 30C can be found in most larger health stores but personally I prefer it in 200C to match the energy of the illness. With food poisoning it usually comes on fast and strong, so a 200C would suit it better.

Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend or Memorial Day, wherever you are in the world. Until next time, stay well!
