I'm in print! I was asked to write a booklet for eczema sufferers and map out a treatment guide using different therapies and strategies. It is now available for sale either through my website or at present in Neals Yard Remedies and homeopathic pharmacies. I am keen to distribute to health stores, doctor's offices, clinics, bookstores and other establishments. If you would like to become a distributor please get in touch about trade prices. (The current cover ties in with the NYR promotion and will change for the next print.)

Neals Yard Remedies is holding eczema workshops around the country this month to highlight the fact that over 20% of the population suffers from eczema. The workshops use my booklet as a guide and there will be plenty of time for discussion and additional help. Phone your local NYR store for more information.

Achoooo!

The leaves are turning and the cold and flu bugs are coming to town. Or are they? On his deathbed Nobel Prize laureate Dr. Louis Pasteur changed his lifelong position by saying "Claude Bernard was right. The microbe is nothing. The terrain is everything." Doctors Bernard and Bechamp believed that it was a weakness in the person that created disease and not an invading microbe. The bugs simply make themselves at home when the fruit is ripe for the picking.

So, what can you do besides wash your hands religiously after using public transport? Wear a mask? Get the flu jab? If you know about vaccinations and the thought makes you nervous yet you can't afford to be sick through the winter, you need to look into homeopathic prevention methods. Nelsons makes a Cold and Flu Prevention remedy that helps boost your immunity safely. The only catch is you cannot take the remedy if you have already had the flu jab. It is too intense to do both. Please contact Nelsons to order on 0207 495 2404. Some people should not take the remedy such as the infirm or very young. Please phone Nelsons for advice if you are not sure.

Pumpkin seeds

When you're carving your pumpkin this month, don't throw away the seeds. Pumpkin seeds are incredibly high in nutrients and a superfood for men. While many people know that pumpkin seeds contain high amounts of zinc, which helps to protect the prostate, there is another bonus. Pumpkin seeds contain chemical substances called cucurbitacins that can prevent the body from converting testosterone into a much more potent form called dihydrotestosterone. Without dihydrotestosterone, it is more difficult for the body to produce more prostate cells, and therefore more difficult for the prostate to keep enlarging.

To make your own fresh supply first remove the seeds from the pumpkin’s inner cavity and wipe them off with a paper towel to remove excess pulp. Spread them out evenly on a paper bag and let them dry overnight. In a bowl, lightly sprinkle them with oil and the seasonings of your choice. (I like chili peppers and garlic) Mix well until they are coated and place on a baking sheet. Bake them at 150C or 300F for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown, shaking the pan several times when baking so as to prevent them from burning. A handful a day is perfect!
